Bio

Wikipedia

An artists’ bio is designed to describe a person, however, explaining “Highway Sisters” is nearly impossible to put into words.  Amelia Presley and KK Bodiford are a Country music duo, that when together, are to the extreme on many levels.  These two are deeply passionate about the music and lyrics they write.  They are hilarious with their crazy antics and always making people laugh.  “Highway Sisters” stand up for what they believe, lift others up, live with compassion, and never apologize for who they are.   Amelia and KK have completely different backgrounds, yet began their journey together with an instant connection.  They were formerly the “The Highway Women” band which is how they met.  Without singing together prior, their first meeting was at the studio recording their first EP in Nashville with Dean Miller, Roger Miller’s son.  The harmonies meshed instantly, as well as their musical direction and raw, soulful style.  Both KK and Amelia have always had the same mentality about this industry…Doesn’t matter how or what, they just want to play music!  Thankful for the opportunity of “The Highway Women,” the original direction of the company had changed, therefore making it difficult to pursue their passion.  Convicted of staying true to their belief in keeping the journey honest, they took a lemon and made the best kind of lemonade, “Highway Sisters” style!

Individually, “Highway Sisters” have interesting paths.  Amelia Presley is a Country Singer-Songwriter and Recording Artist from Mississippi.  One day, Amelia decided to devote her entire career to music after working different jobs for years.  It's in her blood, as she is a cousin to Elvis Presley.  She literally sold her horse to record her first album independently and released  three singles as well.  Amelia has been on the road with an active touring schedule since 2015, including touring with Country Music legend, Ronnie McDowell.  She also served in the United States Coast Guard from 2010- 2015 as a Machinery Technician.

KK Bodiford, Country Singer-Songwriter and Recording Artist from Kansas, began her career as a finalist on the first season of “Nashville Star,” alongside of Miranda Lambert. In “The Highway Women” band, KK wrote their only original released to the public, “Deep Waters.”  She also released an original, “Dance Right Through the Storm,” along with a captivating music video dedicated to her friend’s daughter who recently lost her battle to brain cancer.  KK is a children’s author and creator of the “Bully-Proof-Dream” series designed to teach children about the realities of bullying and how to combat it.  Her book is called “Anything About You.”

“Highway Sisters” both moved to Texas, where they have created a home base for a tour that has taken off with supporters from all over the nation, as well as fans in other countries.   “Highway Sisters”… KK and Amelia… “Thelma and Louise”… “Partners in Crime” … People have fallen in love with their vibrant personalities, their music, what they represent, and where they’re going!  They live, laugh, and love to the extreme, and embrace every moment of their journey on the highway!
